1. What train station do i head for from Heathrow and roughly how much does it cost?

2. Is Madame Tussauds far from my hotel? (one of the things i said id do if i went to London)

3. Is Buckingham Palace far from my hotel?

4. Is there a large shopping bit near my hotel?

5. Am i likely to get mugged/stabbed/shot near my hotel? (the programme Soho Blues has scared me now )

Cheers, Paul

1) Picadilly Line from Heathrow to Green Park. Change to the Jubilee Line to Canary Wharf.

2) Jubilee Line from Canary Wharf to Baker Street (Madame Tussauds)

3) Buck Palace is Green Park again (Jubilee Line)

4) Westfield is the new one that's meant to be good. Sheppards Bush. So DLR to Bank from Canary Wahrf. Then onto Central line to Shep Bush.

Plus obviously Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road are the main shopping areas. TCR is mainly electrical shops though. Ox Street clothes and HMV's

Knightsbridge is Harrods, but IMHO it's overrated. Selfridges is much better (Bond Street Tube closer) As I read somewhere. You'll want everything. And the Mrs will definetly!

5) Probably. Especially if the city traders need extra cash. To be fair. The main problem is not getting stabed, but being pick pocketed. I would say. So be aware of your bags/possessions. But Docklands is generally safe. As is most of Central London / Soho if you aren't stupid.
