if your fillering onto metal then make sure you scratch the surface up with some ruff sandpaper, it'l help the filler stick and make it easyer to feather the edges out. And buy some bigger spreaders, use the small one you get with the filler to mix it, then use the bigger ones to spread it, that way you don't get filler all over the spreader and your hands
