That is the correct answer.

No its not illegal to have an untaxed car sat on your private driveway of a rented house, but it MAY be not in accordance with your contract on the house.

If it is breach of contract on the house, its a civil matter, and doesnt involve the police or the dvla in anyway, its essentially the same as if you kept a pet at the address when the contract says you cant.
