I do think a child should have basic 'helping duties' if that makes sense.

And it is entirelyup to the parent as to whether they enlist their child to do it for reward ie: pocket money, or if they get them to do it as part of every day chores.

BUT

Not too much.

Little things like putting the dishes away, or helping hoover.... i think tidying their own room should be compulsary! As this will help them get a basic understanding of looking after heir own demain!
