I actually think they are being pretty good about it - they gave you three choices as for what suits you best! Day unpaid, days holiday or work it back. Many places would just give you a day unpaid simple as that...

I made it into work, as did all our lads - albeit some of them late. but we all came in, and most of us stayed in the branch all day. Couldn't bond screens up out in the snow anyway, so asked customers to drive in to have work done, some of which did, some didn't...

Way I see it - wanna get paid? Best go to work

It does make me laugh, and also annoy me at the same time tho, that over 6million people took the day off just cos we had a bit of snow. Okay, for some it WAS impossible to go anywhere, but these are mainly in the north and smaller towns and villages as opposed to cities.

One of my friends couldn't go in as he works in central London and in the morning ALL the tubes were cancelled, so nothing he could do there. But another friend of mine had to make pretty much the same journey as me (except in the opposite direction) and didn't go in stating there was too much snow. Strange how I made it in tho!!!! I think a lot of people just wimp out when they see snow and refuse to drive, and a lot (probably the majority) decide to use it as an excuse not to go in. IMO, both of those groups of people don't deserve to get paid. They've not earned the company any money, they's probably COST the company money (maybe the company had to get someone else to do that persons work for example) yet they think they should get paid??? Why?
