there are loads of proxy websites around however some have been accused of harvesting data and user information which could be an issue on a corporate pc

I would suggest take the action of requesting these sites be unblocked or at least finding out the policy or reasoning behind this.

On a corporate pc I would rather surf though my own pc rather than a unknown proxy website
