Yes get someone to make a complaint, then tell them you hit yours a few days after that complaint.

Trouble is, if when the complaint is made, they send someone out to paint round the pothole, that constitutes fair warning to the public, so if they do that, you wont be able to claim.

Thats my understanding anyway, from what I learnt about it when looking into my claim, obviously a lawyer would know the laws better though.
