You've always been able to buy globally unlocked ones - ever since day one with the 2G iPhone. But you can fuck right off if you think I'm gonna pay £600/£700/£800 for one, as thats what they sell for!

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice bit of kit, but it ain't £700 nice!

US - set your iTunes to "manually manage" your iPhone and then you TELL it what you want to put on and take off. Remember tho, any apps you download to the phone OTA will automatically be transfered in the next sync or backup, likewise with contacts, music etc.
I hate iTunes - I always have, even from before getting my iPhone, and I managed to get away with not using it for my iPod, but the iPhone really doesn't work to it's full potential unless you use iTunes, which is a real shame IMO.....
