my mistake,
was actually a 2.4 Transit Tdci engine I was looking at.

I asked about the ECU because it is quite a similar story with the Fiesta RS1800
the XR2 is 105bhp and the RS is 130. The main difference is the Ecu, cam profile and trottle body diameter.
Would be nice to know whats different on the diesels.
Regarding the car itself (and the engine), I'm planning on buying one with under 100k miles and then drive it down to Malta, which is about 1600 miles away.
What should I look out for?
What are the major faults in the Focus?
