Looks like they're trying to be drilled and grooved but only a few mm deep. Give it a few thousand miles and they'll look like normal plain discs with weird edges.

I would imagine they'll get much hotter than bike brakes as bikes weigh nothing in comparison to cars. And I bet they're not the best quality metal in the world being a 'novelty' part.
