In November 1959 When I was 14 the Mini came out we all wanted one but it was out of reach. Had a Ford E93A & then a 100E before my first Mini.
I was one of the first local lads to start to make cars go quicker, bought a Mini Cooper & strapped a Supercharger on it, interesting & very fast back then. My Brother still talks of the utter terror normal human beings felt when they were my passengers. 0-60 in 8secs & over 100mph was supersar stuff back then. HAPPY DAYS.
