wot do you mean it was brown mate just that i was speaking to someone with a st170 and they had a brown sludge in there tank along the lines and was doing the same not revving properly and then eventually died to pump failure, and brown sludge is quite random in a tank so after reading your post bad fuel does seem to be a good diagnosis
Im not sure exactly yet as i just heard from mechanic he said when he took the fuel filter off the petrol that came out was brown. They are removing the tank at the minute so wont know what inside is like until thats done.
The garage said they want a sample to take to the lab for testing but saying just one car cant be affected if there petrol was faulty as they havent had any complaints.
Would be good idea to go get 5 litres in a jerry can to see if it was clean but if say there tanks have been filled again today after the weekend
