I havent done anymore testing on my own car since, due to it being stationary for nearly 16months.
All turbos tests was carried out on my 1.6cvh, carb'd turbo, P+F head, within days of each other, in same weather conditions, (dry, late night), with accurate gauges (tested, rpm and boost) Same ignition curve and AFR.
The 4wd cossie turbo setup was tested on
- a std and kent35 cam,
- with different actuators, and preloads,
- different boost controlling
- and with no feed to actuator at all on 2000-3500rpm test, where i backed off once 28psi was seen.
- with 2 different ex housings, one with worse cracks than the other, but no difference, (but do have a non cracked one to test on it once i get on it),
These were tested as above, but with std ford cam.
The Turbo Technics Stg 1 turbo was in perfect condition, with no failures in ex housing.(full boost = 25psi)
The Std item was a well used turbo with many cracks in the ex housing.(full boost = 25psi)
