More history needed, is it an mfi car with an efi engine loom spliced in or an efi xr3i loom with an fiesta turbo engine loom?

With it being such an intermitent fault i would suggest it could be part of the engine loom with break in a cable somewhere, they tend to get quite brittle around the edis connector and the sensors/senders on the engine.
