Okay, through Elephant, your car is worth £300 regardless of what you quoted the value as @ inception. They go on market value from Glass' Guide.

10 month policy with "accelerator" is worthless as well as most other companies will not recognise the bonus. I have seen this a few times with other people.

Your best bet would have been to use a specialist company that puts the car onto "agreed value". The XR2 is actually classed as a classic car now, so insurance is dirt cheap.

An example: my Escort cabriolet is a 1986 model and insured for £4.5k FC. I pay £141 for me and the other half. It will cost £20 next year to add the Sierra 2000e as that will be 20 years old.

So, 2 car for £161 with a combined agreed value of £7k.

If you are within your 14 days grace period, look around quickly and see if you can get on a classic policy
