Stu - you may have a point there!
Mind you - next time you get to the ring, dont forget to reset it before a lap - that will make your cold mile seem somewhat efficient I reckon!
To be fair, I have noticed that those with the facelifted cars appear to have not only better oil usage characteristics, but fuel usage as well. This may be more than coincidence.
One of the best cars I ever owned.

Update after many months of ownership:
Ive done mine tank to tank as well now and have actually had 28.5mpg once although she seems to truly hover nearer 25/26mpg at 80mph in 6th due to the fact you will, at least once, boot it fr some reason. Even if its only to make yourself smile.
The cold I have seen an improvement on actually, gay as it sounds Ive tried going to work the slightly longer way instead of down all the side streets and on the main 40mph roads to work she now averages 16.5 for the cold mile to work instead of 11. far more palatable.
Any pet hates?
None. Without doubt, the best car Ive had the pleasure of owning or spending any length of time in at all. Incredible build quality, incredible reliability, Serious fun, seriously powerful and seriously nice place to spend a few hours.
Big thank to JJ for his part in making me buy one.
