Hi Simon,
Passionford has suitable poilices reflecting an awareness of the importance of Principle Seven of the Data Protection Act 1998 relating to data protection and data security.
Principle seven as you may know addresses the concerns of employee reliability
(which i presume you are referring to since you mention what is essentially a "Staff Room"), which is generally covered by the use of disclaimers by the employees, or background security checks which the employees agree to as part of their employment contract. The latter though is only relevent when the data stored is of a RESTRICTED or higher classification.
Security of data systems also includes data backup and secure storage of the off-line media, this is the responsibility of IB and your concerns should be directed to their data protection officer if that is the area you wish to question. These are all requirements which Internet Brands as a data storage company must comply to, which of course they do.
To clarify a little, the only full time webteam members with direct access to any Passionford data are full time Internet Brands Inc employees whom all operate under strict confidentiallity contracts as required by law. The volunteer webteam do not have any access to non public data. Anyone who requires more information about Internet Brands data protection policies may contact them directly here:
