CVH engines do have a common flaw in them. The thermostat housing has a small passage in it over the larger passage wehre the thermostat goes into. In the smaller hole, there should be a pea sized plastic marble. The cars being some 20 years old now, most have lost this small plastic piece making the car run too cold on winter at speed. I think it acts originally as a one way valve or a limiter.
