i have been playing around with 4 speed, 5 speed mk3 boxes and then a diesel box in my cabriolets..

there isn t much difference between ratios of the normal box and the diesel box to be honest, the diesel box is stronger and can take more abuse as ive found out.
i currently use a diesel box, but thats coming out and i want to replace internals to sort me out with better ratios for 0-60 times, seeing as you cant seem to reach over 70 on the roads without getting caught anyway lol
