I can't see a reason why it wouldn't work, a 2.8 Capri has a Atlas axle as does the Cortina, if they are both rear loading there shouldn't be a issue.

2.8 Slipper is the way to go, might be worth speaking to Fostek as they can rebuild the diff which can be a big improvement
