Anyhoo...

My previous post in the insurance forum detailed the qualms my insurance was having with my vehicle as they said it was modified.

I have spoken to them this morning, and they have said that they are going to honour my claim, but will not continue the policy as they said I have a 'hose kit' which could improve the performance... but...

1. Their engineer valued my vehicle at £600 (I paid £1800 and insured it for £2000)

2. I have a £450 excess

3. Their estimator has said that in labour alone the repair will cost in excess of £800...

Also needs a passenger side wing-mirror and doorskin (as you can see), as the lorry side-swiped me before I pulled ahead and when I stopped he hit me again from behind, causing the damage above...


Now, the assistance I require is as follows...

1. Is there any way I can argue with their valuation? After all, they were happy to take my premiums when I valued it at £2000... I do not have access to a GlassGuide, although the buyers guides I have read have said that £2000 is about right for this age and condition of car.

2. This was a non-fault accident, and as such I should retain my no-claims bonus (I assume). If they are not going to continue the policy, what happens with this?

3. This was a non-fault accident, and as such I should either have my excess waived, or have it reclaimed from the third party. If my insurance not going to continue my policy after the settlement, what happens with this?

4. Anyone want 1/2 a days work fixing her for me? I can pay with a 16gb 2g iPhone... (j/k incase I am breaking any rules )
