Yes mate the type 9 box from a 2.8i will fit the 24v engine, need to fit the correct spigot bearing in the crankshaft though as the 24v engines were automatic and dont have the spigot fitted.

Most will say the type 9 is not worth fitting to the 24v as its not a strong enough box to handle all the torque and will advise fitting the MT-75 box instead, not so easy to get a hold of and 3 or 4 times more expensive than a type 9 to buy !!!

The type 9 box's were fitted to the Tickford Capri's which were 200 bhp so a good box should be ok on the 24v, hope so anyway as thats what im using for my 24v Capri !!!
