Bit of a myth all that.
If you crash, an inch too long wiper won't contribute/cause the crash, so makes no odds.
A side light out won't cause you to crash.
A big exhaust won't cause you to crash.
In event of a claim, a mod will usually cause them to charge you the amount this mod would have increased policy by.
