i used a pair of grips, they were already fully clockwise, so turned both sides fully anti clockwise until there was some resistance then immediately stopped. It is still the same on seemingly smooth roads (bobs up and down slightly) but now is far far smoother over bigger bumps in the road and seems to iron them out easily
