Get one from a 1989 V6 XR4x4 and it will work fine.

Just looked at the Sierra 87- model microfiche again, and there are only two rev counters listed for the V6:-

87BB-17360-BA which is up to 1990
and
88BB-17360-BA which is 1990-93.

Its the earlier one that I have, so it looks like that is sorted then.

If you undo the five screws holding the instrument cluster together, then the part number is revealed on the face of the rev counter.
