I remember in the early 90s the back pages of Autosport were full of adverts from the teams trying to sell off the then redundant RS500 race cars.

The mag also ran an article where by Andy Rouse was going to convert one of his ex race cars into a road car with a price tag of around 40k

I never heard any more, so I assume it never happened.

As long as you can prove the age of an ex racer and its over 10 years old then you dont have to go the route of an SVA - its a simple matter of getting it to an MOT standard then applying for a v5, it would even go on an age related plate. Given that they are based on a road car it would not be that difficult or expensive to get it to MOT spec

Collins ran a car to 500 spec on a k plate in the vecta challenge
