Have a look on Symantec.com, its the Norton antivirus site.

They used to do a free scan of you PC and list any problems, and provide fixes, in the hope that you would be so impressed that you would buy the software.

Worth a look, but it was a while since I last used it, as I now have security software that updates constantly.
