Alex I figured it all out in thew end.

the gear ratios them selves in the 2 boxes are same for gears 3,4,5 and 6, its only the FDs which seems to be different betweent the 2 boxes.

both 6th gears are 1.09 but the FD for st170 is 2.88 and the mini is 2.74
