ok guys thanks for the advice... i left it for a couple of hours and it coughed the first time, then fired then stopped, then it started and i caught it on the throttle, i revved it gently and it wouldnt idle properley so i kept the throttle open slightly on the cable and unscrewed the idle valve till it was idling properly. I then drew my attention to the blueish smoke that was coming out of the exhaust, more so when i revved the engine. I put this down to playing around with the engine and it died down when she was warm but still slightly slightly there when i blipped the throttle.
It then cut out as the oil filler cap popped off, i put it back on and it wouldnt start again, almost like it is flooding straight away. It ran out of batt so i called it a night and drove home in my other s2.
On the way home i was thinking things through and i figured that it must be overfueling as i left it in a warm hanger for about an hour and then it coughed then started, almost like the fuel was being slowly burnt off with every turn of the key and then when it died again it coughed then wouldnt start.
As for the blue smoke it is the least of my worries at the minute until i get it started but there was a small amount of almost tapping, not loud but noticeable, it died down when it was warmed but i think it must be something in the head, i just hope it aint the turbo as it is a stage 3 but im sure i can get it serviced for (hopefully) not too much money, if it is the turbo... i definately think the blue smoke has something to do with the gentle tapping heard from the engine and not from the turbo as i have had turbos go before and plumes of smoke come out...
Any comments would be most helpful... oh the spec of the engine is as follows:
Engine rebuilt 8k ago (what i was told)
stage 3 turbo
baileys chav valve
piper t2 cams
unlimited boost chip
31 actuator
Cheers
