I wasnt cutting down to the bone I have ended up in A+E a few times as ive cut viens and come quite close to arterys. the intention of self harm is NOT suicide so getting close to arterys shows how fucked in the head you are

The real problem is if you cut a lot you become chemically addicted to addrenaline and the endorphines released in response to injury so you end up cutting to feed the addiction as well as the flashbacks. Its like being a junkie to your own bodys chemicals. Then like any addiction cycle you have to do it more and cut more each time (increase the dose in "heroin" terms ). I ended up in Mental Hospital because of it I had over 60 deep slashes per arm when i was locked up I would post a pic to show you what i mean but last time i did that i offended a few people I didnt get them looked at so was too late for stitches/sterris so still have scars all over lower arms, although the ones on upper arms have mostly faded. Got some nasty kelloids where i went really deep and again didnt get it treated
