Like you say it seem like there isnt sufficient oil to the cylinder head therefore the tappetts arent getting what they need.

I cant see changing the turbo oil feed pipe position as being the cure tbh as there are loads of other 4x4 cossies out there using the standard oil feed take off and are perfectly fine, mine included.

If you have perfect oil pressure then i would suspect something amiss with the head possibly.
