yeah from what ive googled its pretty new V12, so its likely your operator (whoever it is) hasnt checked the firmware yet before releasing it.

I do know people with N96's though and they dont have any problems, it might just need the software reinstalling.
If you havent got anything on it yet id just reinstall the v11 software(you should get the option to do that).
Its worth a go you wont harm anything.

Out of interest what network is it on? and also is free from an upgrade or?
