Took me nearly 13months for a payout for compo so don't think it'll happen overnight if you have grounds for a claim. I got £60 for fuel and phone calls after about 5 months.

Someone drove into the back of me at a roundabout. I had all the usual symptoms pain in my neck and lower back pain, during long shifts my right arm would be aching to buggery and my outside 2 fingers would be numb/tingling. I still carried on working and looked after my son during the day which was when the back pain was worse, feeding time. I put on 2 stone as i couldn't go to the gym or excercise properly. I still suffer with back pain and i have a "click" in my neck (like when you click knuckles). Still, just got on with things at the time.

I had private physio for 6 weeks and got about £1200 iirc a bit different to the £3500 i was told i would get. I was mainly bothered about wasted gym membership and getting some physio, the compo was just a bonus and as much as i'd have happily had more i think its proportional to my injuries.

Also my experience is that the whole process is very easy for people to claim, the dr who assessed me basically put words in my mouth i was genuinely injured but it was all just going through the motions.
