vent to atmosphere Dan, as in spreading greasy oily vapour all over my shiny chrome?? Not good lol

If it is to vent, cant another pipe be added so that it hangs lower and vapours are nowhere near my chrome?? Or could I just add a mini cone filter type thing to it, or wont that stop the vapours? (I think I know what Im on about with that daft question lol)
