rear disc brake issues
i have posted up in here before regarding my rear cossie brakes on my mk4 escy.
the problem is they are too powerful for my car as my car is stripped out and very light at the back.
i have recon calipers with mintex pads and std discs.
firstly they still use the std escort restrictors that sit near the steering rack.
i also fitted a bias valve and shut it off completely but it still kept locking up under heavy breaking.
so next i took the pads out and ground them diagnally so they still cover the whole disc but the pad surface is reduced by half, so now they are bit better but they are still too powerful and lock up still.
at high speeds and heavy breaking they lock up and the arse end comes round which on the road can be a bit scary lol.
so.... is it now time to down grade to some std drums or is there another way of reducing the rears even further?
