Default Cosworth tapping lifters - The Saga Continues.....

Hey there all.

Need some more advice and ideas thrown this way in relation to my 4x4 Saff & its lifter problem - see https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=79860 to recap!

Anyway, to sum up - the lifters are still noisy - they don't hold their pressure overnight, tap severely for a couple of seconds on coldstart then settle, however, at the point at which the lifters become quiet - a second, more cam related light tapping begins, especially as engine dies from about 1500rpm back to idle, and also occasionally a lifter will tap again for a while.

So far:

- Have cleaned original lifters
- Now replaced with new lifters (INA)
- Drilled out and tapped all cam caps to take CVH studs
- No damage/scoring to any of cam lobes/bearings.
- Converted oil feed for turbo to engine block instead of 4x4 feed from head.
- Mobil 1 15W50 oil.
- Oil pressure 53ish psi cold, 35psi warm (at idle) - both at block & head.
- Cam timing spot on (not valves touching pistons).

Sorry to bore you all with such details - but is driving me nuts now! The car drives and pulls superbly - but want it right so any suggestions guys would be very much appreciated.

Cheers!
