Thats it in a nutshell. Mine aren't that bad tbh, and I have got a spare set. Even if they were awful I wouldn't buy these for one simple reason - blotchy originals look fine during the day, and shit at night. If I were to fit a set of those chavvy reproduction ones it would look shite during the day and night. Can't see that as an improvement.

Interestingly - a brand new set of full Ford dials sold on Ebay for about £120 a few months ago.

Another point if you decide to fit a set of these - can you stick them on a normal set of Escort dials and keep your cossy originals? You would need to transfer the mechanism off the back of the speedo onto the normal Escort front to get the mileage reading and 170MPH calibration - but this can be done. The only thing I am unsure about is if the shape of the face is different where the connectors slide on.
