Does anyone know if an employee has a legal obligation to inform their employer if they have been diagnosed with depression and/or stress by their doctor/psychologist?
The person in question says she feels reluctant to mention it as in her workplace there can be a bit of a stigma attached to it.

Apparently the professionals involved have made no recommendation regarding taking time off so far and have suggested lifestyle chanegs may help the situation. (Things like excercising, catching up with old firends etc). She's not been prescribed any medication either, although she is attending weekly individual counselling sessions.
