I dont think (as the picture suggestes) they are educated enought to know then some 4x4's ie landrovers have this sort of handbrake system.
You could leave yours in gear with out the hand brake, but id hate to think what would havven if it got shunted or lifted = bent valve.

its a landrover, it dont have a sub frame!

the adjustable hitch attaches to the back plate on the chassis rear crossmember
You could lift a landrover buy its towbar with out any damage to the chassis. Have seen it done buy the army at displays.
Mine has has some right abuse over the years, and also its car bumper height....keeps the tail gaters at bay!!
