I have recently changed my rountine, lowering my reps but increasing weight to put on some size....however i have over done it

and hurt my left shoulder.
Its been very sore for the past week and hasnt really felt ant better.
My question is should i totally stop the weights for a week or so, or lower the weights right down and increase the reps? I dont want to lose the progress i have made over the past month or so...I feel i have really put some genuine muscle mass on and dont want to lose it.
I was concidering just goin onto cardio only too??
I dont use any gear either...
