for me its 2 stroke all the way i have a yz 125 an my mate has a crf 250 riden it a few times an always feel dissapointed when i get off it like said above has plenty of torque etc.but a crosser should always be 2 stroke more fun lighter less hassle when they do break down an also much easier to throw about.if looked after will last jst as long as a four stroke plus the feeling when the powerband kicks in is quality and they are cheaper to buy aswell
