I do not think the Focus will be purchased by the readers of practical motoring, it will be purchased by people wanting a family performance car and as such I expect they would consider all the alternatives within the price range and I consider the EvoX to be in that.
I simply think the Focus has lost a lot of potential customers due to the fact that it drives only the front wheels.
