I've had both and would go for sti everytime,on a run maybe 28ish mpg around town about 17/18ish mpg. Rag it and you won't see much more than 8/10 mpg.
Had mine down to 8mpg going down castle comb one year.

Normal stuff service history,no managment light on,cambelt done,more standard the better.

Get in one rev to about 4000rpm dump the clutch and smile.
