Why couldnt the donor dog have been one that has just passed away?
Maria, I dont know the ins and outs of it, im just speculating here...but it could of been due to tissue matches? Time contraints? Pressure from higher in the company...many reasons why you couldnt just use an already passed dog.
It might have been a live tissue donation where the required donation was taken whilst the donor was still alive to lessen any compromise due to lack of blood supply etc etc.
