Cutting VAT won't make any difference at all. Prices won't go down as retailers will achieve bigger margins, income tax has stayed the same so your take home won't change and the country is taking on £100bn of debt to fund it all. That means in 13 months when VAT goes back up, so will taxes meaning we'll all be worse off.
Anyone who thinks this is a good thing needs their head read. It's bad news for us all and isn't even the 'quick fix' they're trying to sell it to the public as.
