you dont have to take the box out at all, when u put selector back in the ball part on the rod locates into a thing like a tube which is connected to the rod the gear lever connects to, u have to turn this as u slide the selector down so the ball sits in the end of the tube.... its a pain in the arse but it can be done as i had to!!! hope u can understand that!!
