there are hollow shafts on the GpA car here, the shafts are light and yes, the wheel nuts are all the same size, makes sense doesn't it.
I've been looking at getting new hollow shafts made, looking at the most cost effective options. as long as the hollow shafts can take the torque from the new engine. Also lighter plunge joints are on the cards.
the hollow shafts will take more than the "solid" standard ones as the hollow shafts will twist more before breaing so allowing them to take more power

the old mans car is 600+ hp and 450 lbft trq and the shafts get lots of abuse and are fine (touch wood !!)
