(althgouh i did use a steely spare with the brakes off so it would fit, then let it down and got a few bricks and the car in gear to get it off once and the other time i chopped a bit chunk out of the nut in order to replive some tension

I used a big old torque wrench on mine the other day... Put all my weight behind it and smashed the inside the of the wrench to fooking bits... I then realised it was a left hand thread... doh ...came off easy when I undid it the right way
