After much umming and arring, i was prsented with this at a good price of 820. So, it will be giving up its engine for the rs1600i. It does have some uprated pistons in it, but the owner isnt sure what. either way, it isnt a decomp plate. so worth the gamble i thought. the conversion was done in 2002, and has been in there ever since so it must be fairly solid and well built. Rest of car will be broken to fund it all, got 17s, RS1600i steering wheel, half leather in good nick, delocked doors, 90 spec bumper, vented bonnet and thats the easy stuff to sell on. Car runs okay, but does need an alternator. No knocks or bangs and currently dont know wat management/ECU it has but if i need to, will go down Megasquirt route.
Next issues -
* ideally need a S1 gearbox, dont want to use the RS1600i one
* what loom its using, as im keeping a mk3 dash so using a mk4 loom is a complete pig to change all the dash connectors
* answer all the people who keep telling me im ruining the car.......never mind :cheers:
