Fiesta cutting out
When I first start my car and drive of round the corner, sometimes it just cuts out (the battery warning light comes on and the steering seizes up). The weird thing is as soon as I give it more revs and lift off the clutch it comes back. The same thing happens if I come up to a red light. The gear stick starts to shake and the red battery light starts to flicker and then cuts. It only happens when I coast when coming to a stop or changing down a gear ie when turning a corner.
Also the problem comes and goes so it might be fine one week but do it every day the next.
any advice would be appreciated.

Its a petrol 1.3l Ford Fiesta Equipe. 1995 M-reg.
